Just about everyone and their mother seems to think 2016 was the craziest year yet. Whether you’re one of the assholes who couldn’t believe a celebrity could become president, one of the dinks who didn’t know celebrities could die, or or one of the chumps who thinks having one as president is going to change any of the madness; this past year was unlike anything before it. Gavin’s article on how it all went down is here.
When I think back, I remember this beautiful song from Mr. Bob Hope. Please stop all that a- fussin’ and a-fightin’ and Let’s all sing together!
Thanks For The Memories
Bob Hope
.
Thanks for the memory
Of sentimental verse
Nothing in my purse
And chuckles
When the preacher said
For better or for worse
How lovely it was
Thanks for the memory
Of Schubert’s Serenade
Little things of jade
And traffic jams
And anagrams
And bills we never paid
How lovely it was
We who could laugh over big things
Were parted by only a slight thing
I wonder if we did the right thing
Oh, well, that’s life, I guess
I love your dress
Thanks for the memory
Of faults that you forgave
Of rainbows on a wave
And stockings in the basin
When a fellow needs a shave
Thank you so much
Thanks for the memory
Of tinkling temple bells
Alma mater yells
And Cuban rum
And towels from
The very best hotels
Oh how lovely it was
Thanks for the memory
Of cushions on the floor
Hash with…
As I am still apparently the measure of all things here, and have emerged as a sort of inverse Milo–a flaming heterosexual keeping my audience of faggots in thrall–I feel obligated to offer a song, too (from Ten Years After) as the last sands of ’16 fall through the glass:
Every where is freaks and hairies, dykes and fairies;
Tell me where is sanity?
Tax the rich, feed the poor, till there are no rich no more.
I’d love to change the world – but I don’t know what to do,
So I’ll leave it up to you.
Population – keeps on breeding, nation bleeding,
Still more feeding economy.
Life is funny, skies are sunny, bees make honey,
Who needs money? Monopoly!
I’d love to change the world – but I don’t know what to do,
So I’ll leave it up to you… Oh yeah,
World polution, there’s no solution, institution, electrocution,
Just black and white, rich or poor, them and us,
We’ll stop the war!
I’d love to change the world – but I don’t know what to do,
So I’ll leave it up to you… and Good Luck!

Same lonely idiot reduced to stroking himself.
Ten Years After gave the best performance at Woodstock, at least among the ones featured in the movie.
Yeah, I don’t listen to classic rock stations anymore, but that song used to be on steady rotation. I wonder if it has been banned. *stroke* *stroke*
^ He lives here.
Without SC he has no life. What a sad lonesome loser. Different pseudonyms, same OogaBooga.
Ha ha ha!
Actually, now that I think about it, this isn’t funny. It just isn’t funny at all. Don’t you realize that when you tell lies like that about me you’re alienating the people who are not me who took the time to form a thought and post it here? That’s pretty darn disrespectful, guys. Don’t you care about the community here? I’m starting to think you don’t!
way crazz
