All I see are colored people. Is that wrong?

I would hate the word “nigger” if it meant, “Having your birthday on a Friday.”

I don’t even like chigger or niggardly. Shit, I don’t even like it when people talk about the country Niger (which is, thankfully, never) but “people of color” is even worse. It sounds like the end of a sci fi movie where the kid screams at the FBI for thinking the aliens are here to hurt us. Then a purple one and a yellow one and an orange one and a blue one all walk out and they’re super tall and glowing and the kids says, “They’re just like us. They’re people of color.” Then the head of the FBI hugs the kid and the fucking maroon guy puts his glowing hand on them or some shit.

People of color? Who does that include? Australian aboriginals, Cambodians, and gypsies have banded together as the people of color to fight all those people who hate them. What kind of name for your group is that? The only thing you have in common is that you have kind of a color? Can albinos join? Fuck you. If I was the president and I was gay and the People of Color came here in peace, I would still attack them because they’d be too gay even for me, and I’m not even a gay president. I’m a chick!

  3. I’ll admit, I was hoping for a solid rant against people who tan too much or wear too much makeup. Regardless of having heard 1,000 of such rants, they never get old because people will never stop doing those things and looking like hideous.

That’s it. I am leaving this site for good. Your wilfull ignorance of what offends people has gone too far. I know you think you’re cool because you’ve read a book or something (not just talking about Jenee but the people who run this site too) and you heard slavery did not build this country because we were “broke” (your word) after the Civil War but you’re forgetting a pretty major thing…

THINGS STARTED GOING BADLY FOR BLACK PEOPLE AFTER CRACK WAS INTRODUCED INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES BY THE WHITE GOVERNMENT.

Try to argue your way out of that minor detail. Before crack, blacks had families. They had jobs. They had a sense of community. Then crack came along and wiped it all away. Then, the government cracked down on crack and the prison population increased by 1000%. Have you ever heard of the huge gap between cocaine-related crime (white) and crack-related crime? No? I didn’t think so.

Terms like “people of color” are an attempt to regain respect and dignity after a people’s own government has committed a form of genocide to get rid of them. Fire Jenee. Boycott Street Boners and TV Carnage.

  6. WELL ‘STONE DEISEL’ OUR YOU ‘SHAQ DEISEL’ BROTHER? LOL

Wow, what a paradox, Jenee. Trying so hard to get people to like you–impress your mentors?– by reaching deep into the desolate chasms of your trendy mind to jump on the bandwagon with something that encompasses the newly defined “ironic hipster racism” (which this site has chosen to claim as a banner of misanthropy while conversely accusing it of inherent nonsense) while at the same time attempting trollishly incite the fury of your “PC enemies”. And yet; what you have produced is as void of real meaning, conviction, insight as a styrofoam fragment floating in a polluted river, its tragedy defined by its futility and inflated, buoyant sense of self importance.

  11. wtf says:

    nigga please

  12. chip says:

can’t we all at least agree that the term “people of color” is horriible and probably more offensive than the other words it is trying replace. it is the distilled lameness of the PC language police. it is the failure of their corny tactics.

  13. Robin says:

    You are not interesting.

  14. you are an idiot says:

@Stone Diesel So every time I call a black person a “Person Of Color”, somewhere someone gets exonerated of drug related charges? Who will we blame for introducing Methamphetamine to poor rural white families? Let’s just go ahead and blame the idiots who smoke themselves into a prison sentence for their own stupidity. “People of color” is an idiotic and condescending phrase. I’m not saying this blog entry was well written but it looks intelligent next to your inane commentary.

  15. Merle Schmerlstrom says:

    @Stone Diesel

I think black people’s problems started way before crack cocaine and may at least be tangentially related to the fact that sub-Saharan Africa hadn’t even developed a written language and was living in the Stone Age when Arab slave-traders first chanced upon them.

Or maybe you have a TV-movie sense of history and aren’t aware that Muslim Arabs started the ball rolling and enslaved twice as many black Africans than white Europeans ever did.

  19. Kennedy says:

Yeah! And where does the NAACP get off using that acronym? Someone should string them up for using that offensive word “COLOR.” Everyone should be forced to be more “TOLERANT.”

  20. Blasian says:

This was dog shit, im so disappointed in your thirst for approval as well as your blatant ignorance

  21. This nonsense needs to stop says:

You all do realize that Jenee isn’t real?

  22. sometimes I wonder when I ponder says:

I find it a bit odd that PoC or Person of Color for long is supposed to be the latest and cleanest way to say Basketball-American.
For me personally it also comes a bit too close to the term colored which I have been told is bad, racist and offensive and all that. It’s pretty damn close only that now we have the build in guarantee of personhood but that not being something that goes without saying could be construed as racist itself.
Ultimately I do believe that the pushing for the term is just an attempt to group Basketball-Americans into one umbrella term together with model minorities like Asians who are now suddenly also supposed to be coloreds or Persons(People? Dare I say people? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU PEOPLE?!) of Color, probably with the hope that this time they won’t wear it out so soon.

Nigger — used to be perfectly acceptable, came from the Latin word niger for black

but that was worn out, so then we had to use…

Negro — used to be perfectly acceptable, still means black in Spanish

but that was worn out so then we had to use…

Colored — used to be perfectly acceptable and the new PC way to call them instead of negro

but that was worn out so then we had to use…

African-American — this used to be perfectly acceptable but led to too many a hi-jinx involving white South Africans, I guess

causing even that term to start showing its wear and tear, so now we are urged to use

People of Color — as I’ve already mentioned this time it includes everybody else too unless you are white, then you are excluded from the party

I wonder for how many years People of Color will hold, these terms are falling apart faster than boy bands from the 90s, and what magical term will be next?

My vote goes to Basketball-American as this contains a positive affirmation about one of the few things they really excel at and can feel good about
