We finally made a video that doesn’t feature The Bronx. BLK JKS get called stuff like “the South African Strokes,” but they’re more like Bad Brains performing Paul Simon’s “Graceland.”
We finally made a video that doesn’t feature The Bronx. BLK JKS get called stuff like “the South African Strokes,” but they’re more like Bad Brains performing Paul Simon’s “Graceland.” The band used a photo from our SANZA-HANZA photo-zine for the cover of their Mystery EP last year, so when they were putting together ideas for their music videos they asked to incorporate footage from the SANZA-HANZA film. Along with the South African train-surfing footage, the clip was filmed in New York (Santos Party House and Coney Island), where the band now lives.

It’s just kind of difficult to consider a 20 something riding around on a bicycle to be a hard ass. As if they have to make a quick getaway from the evil truant officer or Coach Wilson.
Yeah, and train jumping, who hasn’t done that…playing with frickin’ choo-choo trains much. Music is catchy though, although it is a bit black. Like isn’t SA done with this whole apartheid thingy…
god comparisons are useless. you are correct in that both bad brains and this band have all black members. you got that part right.
how about faith no more meets fela? maybe living color meets boyoyo boys? alien sex fiend meets ali farka toure?
^”gawd! comparisons are useless.”
also God comparisons are useless too.
They’re like Hall & Oates meet Skrewdriver!
^ Pretty funny
How great is that skateboard? 10 bucks says it’s a Variflex
bolo kills it
Rock guitars, black people. What’s not to like?
Haven’t you ever taken the subway in a shitty city before? Black people play on trains all the time.
^^^(almost everyone) so glad humans have progress so much in past 400 years.
