Street Carnage Radio recently hosted Fang Island, live from my (Pinky speaking) extra-small, baby-sized living room equipped with one mic for many, but we pulled it off. Why my luxurious home? Because they were leaving for tour that night and they are racist when it comes to traveling out of their way.
The interview was long, thrilling, life-changing, and featured a glorious technical queef. We had to start the interview over after eight minutes because the wrong record button was pushed. Also known as a case of “silence.” In my defense, when you push a record button and you see levels going into the danger zone you figure “it’s on like Genghis Tron.” So we went for it. Just like in the Bible and Torah pamphlets. Sadly but thankfully, a barely masculine human known as Sam came into the room and casually said, “You enabled the wrong record button.” His face was so smug he looked Belgian. Have you ever witnessed a Belgian being smug? It’s like having your genitals suicide bombed in the middle of the first time the person of your dreams tells you they love you. I think.
The Fang Island gents discussed being yet another band from Brooklyn, the death of the record industry and Sean Avolio’s soon to be massive hit, “All up in My Candy.”
In between the talky-talk we played the weirdest assortment of music. I felt like I was at a Budapest rave in 1936. I think they played “Close Your Eyes and Choose” with their selections.
